NECRONAUTICAL Unveil ‘Enemy of the Grave’ from Upcoming Album
NECRONAUTICAL confront the darkness within
British black metal band NECRONAUTICAL have released ‘Enemy of the Grave’, the first single from their fifth full-length album, “The Second Death”, accompanied by a lyric video. Due out on December 4 via Vendetta Records, the track closes the album and offers the first glimpse of the band's new material following a five-year period of work.
Vocalist and guitarist NAUT describes ‘Enemy of the Grave’ as one of the most important tracks on the album from his perspective. The song explores the resilience and resolve gained through enduring suffering, while the visualisation created by Killian Monson complements its chaotic atmosphere with a narrative that ultimately reaches a more sombre conclusion.
Shaped over five years, “The Second Death” spans a broad musical spectrum, taking NECRONAUTICAL from ambient and Gothic passages to Extreme Blackened Death. Its lyrics focus on the writer's darkest periods and personal struggles, with the confrontation of one's inner demons at the heart of the album's narrative.
The title concept extends this theme beyond physical death. NECRONAUTICAL define the distance between dying and the last time anyone speaks your name as a measure of the impact you leave behind in life.
“The Second Death” will be released on December 4 via Vendetta Records. ‘Enemy of the Grave’ brings the 12-track album to a close.
