LENG TCH’E Return with First New EP in Nine Years
Nine years later, the collapse continues
Belgian grindcore band LENG TCH’E released "Hammered into Collapse" on October 23 via Season of Mist, marking their first new recording since 2017’s "Razorgrind". The two-track EP ends nearly nine years of recording silence, building a two-stage narrative of collapse through the title track and the new song 'Voided'.
The EP’s title track was previewed with an official music video released on September 24. The new song 'Voided' takes the narrative beyond individual mental disintegration, expanding the darkness into something broader and more apocalyptic. This connection between the two tracks forms the central idea behind the release.
The 4-minute-and-55-second EP features contributions from Taylor Young and Brad Boatright. It was recorded at Hearse Studio with engineer Lander Cluyse, mixed by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Young’s work with bands including GOD’S HATE, FULL OF HELL and VITRIOL makes his involvement a notable detail in the production of LENG TCH’E’s new material.
Formed in Ghent, Belgium, in 2001, LENG TCH’E have spent their career combining grindcore with elements of death metal and hardcore, describing their approach as “razorgrind”. With albums such as "Death by a Thousand Cuts", "ManMadePredator" and "The Process of Elimination", the band established a presence in the underground metal scene. They had not released any new studio material since "Razorgrind" arrived in 2017. The band continued performing live during that period, including an appearance at Gullegem Metal Fest in April 2026.
On the new EP, Serge Kasongo handles vocals, Jan Hallaert plays guitar, Olivier Coppens plays drums, and Nicolas Malfeyt contributes bass and backing vocals. The music was written by Jan Hallaert and Olivier Coppens, the lyrics by Serge Kasongo, and the artwork was created by Sven De Caluwé.
"Hammered into Collapse", LENG TCH’E’s two-track release following their lengthy recording hiatus, is available on digital platforms.
