XENOSIS Push the Boundaries of Prog/Tech Death Metal on New Album “Hermetic Transmutation”
US progressive/technical death metal act Xenosis return with their fifth full-length album, Hermetic Transmutation. Expanding their technical death metal foundation with elements of brutal and dissonant death metal, the band aims to deliver one of the genre’s most intense and multifaceted releases in recent years.
The seven-minute track “Spore Whore” was recently premiered by Toilet ov Hell, with the publication describing the song as one of the clearest representations of the band’s progressive, technical, and chaotic identity.

Having spent years refining their sound within the technical death metal underground, Xenosis further expand their musical palette on Hermetic Transmutation by incorporating progressive structures alongside brutal and dissonant death metal influences. Despite the album’s overwhelming complexity, the band manages to maintain a natural sense of flow throughout the material. Dense riffing, constantly shifting rhythms, and a strong sense of groove form the backbone of the record’s immersive sound.
Hermetic Transmutation is being recommended especially to fans of Death, Martyr, Atheist, and Gorguts.
The album features the following lineup:
Sal Bova – vocals
Gary Marotta – drums
Kenny Bullard – guitars
Keith Benway – guitars
Travers Kenney – bass
The album artwork was created by Graphic Nightmare.
